Compatriots of the Texas Division,

Compatriot Steven Lang reports from the recent Super UIL Conference in Austin that Texas elementary and junior high UIL Social Studies for the coming year will be discussing the War for Southern Independence.  This is an excellent opportunity for us to be pro-active and positive in educating our Southern youth about the cause for which our ancestors fought.  We cannot know when the opportunity may again arise.  We cannot let it pass without taking advantage of it.

I ask every camp of the Texas Division to take on at least one local elementary or junior high school as a special project this year.  If you can take on more than one school that is better still.  Please contact the teacher responsible for the history curriculum and offer the services of your camp in teaching about the war of our ancestors.

This seems an excellent opportunity to teach our Southern children that their Southern ancestors fought for something besides their slaves.  It is an opportunity to teach them that their forefathers fought for the Republic and Constitution for which the Minutemen fought the British.  It is a time to teach them that their ancestors were patriots and not rebels!  You are all armed with the truth.  Now is your chance to teach it, en masse, to our Southern youth.

If you do not mind, please let me know of any schools that you contact and accept your services.

Thank you and good luck.
